The Cello Studio at UNCSA

Our cello studio at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts is lively and very successful, and consists of high school, college and masters students from the US and abroad.. Last year seven cellists in the studio either won or placed in national and regional compettions including MTNA, ASTA, Fischoff, and the annual MANC Cello and Violin Competition. In the past year members of the studio have traveled to perform with Chancellor Mauceri in Vienna, in LA at the 2008 Grammy Awards and in Ravinia for the UNCSA 50th Anniversary production of West Side Story.

The Music School at UNCSA is a unique state-of-the-art conservatory offering intensive training and career development in music performance and composition. With a vibrant orchestral and chamber music program, and opportunities for collaboration with the other schools in dance, design and production, drama, filmmaking, and visual arts, UNCSA is a dynamic place to train for a music career.
